VISION AND MISSION STATEMENT

DREAMS, VISION AND PACKAGE
From the cover to the back, in terms of design and planning to style
of writing The Globe departs radically from traditional concepts with
so much that will be new about it. It shall remain distinct and unique
with a fresh flavor of its own.
In terms of style, we will continue to demonstrate a commitment to
one that puts life and colour into our word: few words more visuals.
Granted that no wholly satisfactory definition has been found for
“news” yet The Globe team will not be discouraged. Instead, we shall
be genuinely concerned about our reputation for fairness and accuracy.
In fact, our working tool will be the adoption of the three cardinal
rules of Journalism accuracy (the indefatigable pursuit of facts and
the careful checking of all facts). This is the only protection we can
have against bias.
At the same time we will not only carefully cultivate our chief
professional assets – “news sources” but we assure that we shall as a
matter of fact honorably maintain and respect them without necessarily
becoming captives.
Expectedly, occasionally, we shall be high witnesses, frequently we
shall be interpreters but always we shall be reporters.
In general, our sense of visual perception shall be manifested in
the prodigal use of pictures.
In The Globe, usual/Editorial/Cartoon concept shall be simple frank,
open criticism/support of a definite policy/person corporate
organization with no sacred cows no forbidden areas.
Finally, in The Globe a person’s name, reputation and antecedents
will be of tangible value, though it will no way in-pair our judgment
or opinion on any particular issue.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND RESTRICTIONS
We shall be influenced at all times and in all cases by a sense of
responsibility to first God, the public good and then to national
interest. We shall be restricted by the above three and only
additionally by law and journalistic ethics.
We will not demean journalism by insisting on the right to do in
professional life something we would never willingly allow done to
ourselves or to our news operations. No masks, no planted cameras or
mikes, no masquerade except and only when the general good of the
people is at stake.
Reporters and photographers will act exactly as they shall obtain
every one of our stories and pictures in reality, not in theory.

STRATEGIC DIRECTION
The strategic direction is to ensure that events, people and
institutions are properly reported in distinct style of language, rich
graphics and visuals.
